Carper Insurance Associates was founded by Dan Carper on March 1, 1979. After graduating from Virginia Tech in 1971, Dan taught various business subjects at Dublin High School and Pulaski County High School in Pulaski County, VA. Dan began selling insurance for a National Company in October, 1975 and was promoted to a sales manager position 18 months later and continued in that capacity until he started Carper Insurance Associates.
